Reopening My Etsy Shop – A Return to Colors and Textures

Nine years ago, I closed my Etsy shop. Now, nine years later, I’m reopening it.

The reason is quite simple: I want creativity, professional challenges, vibrant colours, and rich textures to have a bigger place in my everyday life again.

This time, I’m not embarking on the project alone. My adult daughter has also fallen in love with the world of yarn and knitting. For her, hand-knitting has become a way to switch off after the rush of everyday life, so we are now combining our skills and working together.

Kilenc évvel ezelőtt bezártam az Etsy boltomat. Most, kilenc évvel később, újra megnyitom.

Az ok egyszerű: szeretném, ha a kreativitás, a szakmai kihívások, az élénk színek és a gazdag textúrák ismét nagyobb szerepet kapnának a mindennapjaimban.

Ezúttal azonban nem egyedül kezdek bele. A felnőtt lányomat is magával ragadta a fonalak és a kötés világa. Számára a kézi kötés a mindennapi rohanás utáni kikapcsolódás, ezért most összekapcsoljuk a tudásunkat, és együtt dolgozunk tovább.

Colors, textures, and premium yarns

The concept behind the shop is clearer and more focused than it was before.

Our collection consists mainly of shawls, stoles, and cowls, made exclusively from my own hand-dyed premium yarns. For me, colour and quality go hand in hand. I enjoy working with beautiful natural fibres and exploring how colour changes once the yarn becomes a knitted fabric.

Our division of work is quite natural. My daughter focuses mainly on the thicker yarns, creating hand-knitted pieces, while I work with the finer yarns to create lightweight stoles and delicate accessories.

A bolt koncepciója most letisztultabb és fókuszáltabb, mint korábban.

A kollekció főként kendőkből, stólákból és nyakmelegítőkből áll, amelyekhez kizárólag az általam kézzel festett, prémium minőségű fonalakat használjuk. Számomra a szín és a minőség szorosan összetartozik. Szeretek gyönyörű természetes alapanyagokkal dolgozni, és figyelni, hogyan változik a fonal megjelenése, amikor kötött anyaggá alakul.

A munkamegosztásunk természetesen alakult ki. A lányom elsősorban a vastagabb fonalakkal dolgozik kézzel, én pedig a finomabb fonalakból készítek könnyű stólákat és finom kiegészítőket.

A palette of our own

If you look through the collection, you will probably notice a recurring theme in the colours.

Blue in almost every possible shade is a particular favourite, alongside delicate pinks, deep purples, and soft browns. Yellowish tones, on the other hand, rarely make an appearance.

This is not a strict rule, of course. Colour is one of the most enjoyable parts of working with hand-dyed yarn, and I’m always open to something different.

Egy saját színpaletta

Ha végignézed a kollekciót, valószínűleg hamar feltűnik egy visszatérő színvilág.

A kék szinte minden árnyalata nagy kedvencem, emellett a finom rózsaszínek, a mély lilák és a lágy barnák is gyakran megjelennek. Sárgás árnyalatokkal viszont csak ritkán találkozhatsz nálam.

Ez természetesen nem szigorú szabály. A színek a kézzel festett fonalakkal való munka egyik legizgalmasabb részei, és mindig szívesen kipróbálok valami újat.

I’m happy to create a custom-dyed yarn for a shawl or cowl, using a suitable superfine merino, silk, or kid mohair base.

The aim of the new Annush shop is quite straightforward: to create beautiful, wearable accessories from carefully chosen natural fibres and individually developed colours.

Some pieces will be completely one of a kind, while others may be available in a limited range of colourways.

What connects them all is the same starting point:

Dyed by hand. Made unique. Made to wear.

Knitted winter forest

I have many left over yarns. All kinds of colors. Green too.
For these usage - in Christmas time - I found the perfect solution on Simply Notable blog. You also need some cork, but which household lacks them?

Sok maradék fonalam van. Mindenféle színben. Még zöldben is.
Ezeknek a felhasználására - így Karácsony tájékán - tökéletes megoldást találtam Simply Notable blogján. Ugyan kell még hozzá parafadugó, de melyik háztartásban nincs olyan?

Summer Fiber Necklace

Stylish knitted fashion jewellery: ideal to brighten your boring days (and blouses or simple summer tops).
I use the softest bamboo yarn for the 4 strings - and for the the wider cord around the neck as well. It is soft - have I said that this yarn is sooo soft? - and cool, suitable for the warmer summer days, too. And washable in lukewarm water... This necklace is ideal summer jewellery for those who are allergic to metal or feel itchy the wool.
The colour picks are a bit uncommon - seen my usual colour preference - but I came to love these bright, fresh and cool shades...

Divatos kötött ékszerek: színnel töltik meg unalmas napjainkat (a blúzokról és egyszerű top-okról nem is beszélve).
A lehető legpuhább bambusz fonalat használtam a 4 "madzaghoz" és a szélesebb nyakpánthoz is. Nagyon puha - említettem már, hogy a fonal milyen nagyon puha? - és hűvös, még a melegebb nyári napokon is lehet hordani. És mosható is. Ideális nyári nyaklánc azoknak, akik allergiásak a fémre - én is -, vagy viszketős kórságot kapnak a gyapjútól.
Tudom, hogy a színválasztás egy kicsit szokatlan - ismerve a preferált színeimet - de egészen beleszerettem ezekbe a friss és élénk árnyalatokba...

"Szalagos" Doughnuts

I posted only the pictures last year, now here it is the recipe so you can get fat, too! 

• 500 g plain flour
• 3-4 ts sugar 
• 25 g  fresh yeast
• 3 egg yolks
• 350 g sour cream
• 2,5-3 dl milk
• 1,5 cl rum
• 60 g ts unsalted butter, at room temperature

1. Put the fresh yeast in a bowl and pour 1 ts sugar and a warm sour cream over it. Cover the bowl and leave it to rest for 5 minutes.
2. Put the yolks, the rest of sugar and the flour in the bowl.
3. Mix the dough and gradually pour in enough warm milk to make a moderately soft dough, then add the butter and the rum. Knead until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
4. Cover the bowl and allow the dough to rise in warm place until doubled (one-one and a half hours depending on the room temperature).
5. Turn out onto lightly floured board and knead it lightly. Roll out the dough to 3/4-1 inch thickness and cut it with the desired sized glass. I prefer the smaller 2,5-3 inch wide doughnuts.
6. Cover the disc and let them rise on the board 15-20 minutes
7. Push a hollow in the center of the disk with your thumb and drop it into deep hot oil upside down. Fry them under cover to rise until become golden brown, then turn and fry it without cover.
8. Drain on paper towel.

Tavaly csak fotókkal jelentkeztem, idén a receptet is megosztom, hízzatok ti is!

• 500 g sima liszt
• 3-4 ek cukor
• 25g élesztő
• 3 tojássárga
• 350 g tejföl
• 2,5-3 dl tej
• 1,5 cl rum
• 60g puha vaj

1. Tegyük az élesztőt egy nagy tálba. Szórjuk meg 1 ek cukorral és öntsük rá a meglangyosított tejfölt. Takarjuk le és hagyjuk pihenni 5 percig.
2. Tegyük a tálba a tojássárgákat, a maradék cukrot és a lisztet.
3. Dolgozzuk össze a tésztát fokozatosan annyi langyos tejet adva hozzá, hogy közepesen lágy tészták kapjunk. Dolgozzuk hozzá a puha vajat és a rumot. Dagasszuk addig, amíg egynemű nem lesz.
4. Takarjuk le a tálat és kelesszük a tésztát langyos helyen, amíg kétszeresére nem dagad (egy-másfél óra a hőmérséklettől függően).
5. Borítsuk gyúródeszkára és gyúrjuk át. Nyújtsuk ki 1,5-2 cm vastagra majd szaggassuk ki a kívánt méretre pohárral. Én a kisebb, 6-7 cm átmérőjű fánkocskákat szeretem.
6. A kiszaggatott korongokat letakarva ismét 15-20 percig kelesztjük.
7. Forró olajban süssük meg őket úgy, hogy a közepükbe a hüvelykujjunkal mélyedést nyomunk, majd megfordítva tesszük őket az olajba. Fedjük le a serpenyőt, hogy a melegben meg tudjanak emelkedni. Mikor barna az aljuk, fordítsuk meg őket és most már fedő nélkül süssük készre.
8. Papírtörlőn hagyjuk lecsöpögni.
